This level of professionalism has seen Burtonwood recently awarded NIC EIC Approved Contractor status for the installation of electrical generators.
The Company has also been approved for the installation of fuel pipework, storage and delivery systems under the OFTEC registration scheme.
OFTEC - the Oil Firing Technical Association - is a Government recognised ‘competent persons scheme’ for technicians who install and commission oil-fired heating or power equipment. Awarded safecontractor status and CHAS accreditation, Health & Safety is another key element of our quality and corporate responsibility. Health & Safety is a cross-disciplinary area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of all staff engaged in work or employment. The goal of our Health & Safety policies and procedures is to foster a safe work environment. As a secondary effect, it may also protect co-workers, family members, employers, customers, suppliers, nearby communities, and other members of the public who are impacted by the workplace environment.
The safecontractor programme also allows customers to benchmark the company's Health & Safety performance. Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd's application for accreditation was driven by the requirement to establish a uniform standard across the UK business, its regional offices and mobile workforce..
The Company has been working towards even higher standards of Health & Safety and the achievement of nationally recognised standards. Indeed recently assessed to OHSAS18001:2007, Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services has now established an integrated Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management System to ensure the implementation of coordinated company policies and procedures for the three operating standards (quality, environment and H&S). The integrated Management System covering all aspects of the Company's activities and its interface with its customers and the wider public.
