Entirely run on generators, the NATS (National Air Traffic Services) power station at West Drayton (Heathrow) provided sole power to the air traffic control desks - making constant and uninterrupted power essential. For 14 years Burtonwood Generators maintained and safeguarded this crucial and constant power supply - a task the company managed with ongoing diligence and efficiency, ensuring zero power outages.

This outstanding service record led to Burtonwood Generators being successful in winning the contract for the ongoing maintenance of the two 5MW standby generators at the new Air Traffic Control centre at Swannick.

Work undertaken:

Ongoing maintenance and service work together with 24 hour, 7 day a-week call out provision, including: -

  • Major overhauls of the engines as required at service intervals
  • Upgrades of the control systems
